Joe, Re: "How has the claim been refuted? You can reasonably say that the problem is not caused by Intel, but by 3rd party graphics card makers, who did not fully follow the spec of AGP and a user who does not follow specs / instructions. But the result can be the same - dead Intel motherboard."

I bet I could start selling car batteries with ATX connectors on them. If you were stupid enough to buy one to install on your Athlon motherboard, would you get mad at AMD after you fried your motherboard for not having the voltage and current fail-safes? I can't imagine the thought of someone install a car battery on a motherboard would ever crossed the minds of the engineers designing the Athlon chipset or the motherboard. Similarly, I'm sure that the thought of graphics vendors not following AGP spec, and keying the slot such that 1.5V or 3.3V were possible, but only 1.5V was capable, also didn't cross the minds of the engineers designing the Pentium 4 chipset and motherboard. And people have gone over this concept many times on this thread - so much so that it's hardly an arguable point any longer. It's a simple fact that vendors who choose not to follow spec can destroy other hardware in the system. This is the same for any device out there, in one degree or another.

Re:"a user who does not follow specs / instructions"

Did you know that if you don't follow the spec and hook 48 volt DC to an AMD system that it will be bye, bye.

Re:"if he can't prove his claim"

Dan3 proved it for me when he talked about the 3Com NIC problem.
