Well, I like TLM for a variety of reasons. Despite the various kinds of political risk, they may befit from what seems to be a huge pool of oil in the Sudan, but even without their foot in the door there, they have lots of reserves outside the Middle East.

The oil royalty trust BPT (I don't own any right now) would produce very high returns for a few years if oil spiked, but they are a wasting asset. They might peter out entirely in about eight years or so.

Since it is a well-established fact that nearly every nonprofessional who buys futures loses money, often a great deal of money, I have no plans to try to buy oil that way.

So that's it. I have a big position in TLM.
