In Britain the gubmint provides a health insurance that is ok unless you have cancer. In Switzerland the gubmint requires everyone to buy health insurance, and one with a $1000 deductible per year can be had for about $100 a month (no dental). In Germany its a family benefit paid out of wages and is expensive for singles and cheap for big families.

Edit: In Britain one can buy a private supplement to the NHS in order to get immediate specialist treatment.

WLD yep. A visit to our local emergency room will reveal that those without medical insurance go there, the same as you or I would go to a family doctor. Sniifles, a cold, anything. Heck I pay for health insurance and I go in with my kid, with a real emergency and I have to get in line behind the sniffles sufferers...........
