I'd stick with Corning rather than JDSU. Things will turn around, and Corning has better management. JDSU has a less experienced management team, while Corning has more long term growth opportunities in diverse areas.

Mike, Just got your note, I don't know what was up yesterday. I was just thinking about these telecom equipment companies. The main thing I think is to make sure they survive this downturn - I think GLW qualifies, but who knows for sure. Then we want a big pick up in earnings after that. The timetable is really tough to call, but I think long term telecom should have good growth. That nasty "last mile" problem is killing us though. Maybe if we start climbing the telephone poles ourselves it will get some attention. <g>

I also have a lot more in JDSU right now. These guys here may be right in that GLW is the better bet, however. Maybe you have the right idea, just assume they all go to zero. Once we accept that, it should be easier. Sort of like the eliminate your desires principle in Buddhism. Either that or maybe Merk or somebody will come out with a prescription medicine for us telecom investors. <g>
