THAT's if they can get the financing in this market. I expect them to follow the fiber firms over the long haul...

think there may be some logic to the bullishness in these names simply because their customers will be forced to buy new technology or face competitive pressures from those that do.


Maybe it would be justified at normal trough levels, and even then people would be taking a chance the upturn is for real. But at these levels? As Lehman pointed out, AMAT is selling for 42x '03 estimates and 25x peak of the next cycle estimates. I assume the next cycle peak is projected to be '04 or '05. It's ludicrous and one reason why I am a bleeding short.
