Do you know what percentage of production comes from Russia, and what the future trend is?

Russia has been an uptrend for the last few years
1998=127mt 1999=138mt 2000=155mt 2001=168mt
This accounts for about 6.5% of world production

I have read news reports of more planned increases and GFMS numbers
confirm this with a continued rise to 180mt by 2005 then a dip back down to 150mt.

More gold is produced now by Russia and former CIS members than when it was USSR.
USSR peaked at 285mt in 1989, while today Russia (168mt), Uzbekistan (88mt),
Kygyzstan (25mt), and Kazakstan (20mt) produce a combined 301mt (11.6% of world)
