yes, TC...i used the Feb options....and speaking of Feb's, i tried to play the OEX with Feb's and really couldn't get anywhere with them this week...

i guess the time value really decays rapidly in the last week?...anyway, i'm off the OEX for now, just busy with these earnings plays...

and as far as the criteria i was using to filter for good volatility plays....i was basing my selection on past volatility at previous earnings...

but as it turns out, a previous Q being "not volatile" doesn't necessarily preclude it from happening in the current Q....

it's really amazing, TC, how many of these earnings announcements could have been played using straddles with just phenomenal results...

pretty remarkable results from a strategy that is to some degree "Low Risk"...

oh...next time you're on OI, check out the Covered Calls Department...

that fellow has some nice results!..i'd really like to do some covered calls on this next market pullback...

Ces in Jerry's trading room does a lot of Covered Calls...his goal is to find stocks at the bottom of their Bollinger Bands, that he can sell a CC on for 10% of stock value...

in 10 months he has a Zero Cost Basis on the Stock...
