Looks like a bunch of folks are having the same problem.

Here's a couple of solutions that the posters said worked for them.

1.If you downloaded this update from Windows Update, then others are
having the same problem. So far, the easiest way to fix this goes
something like this:

Go to Windows Update.
Click on the hyperlink that will search for new updates
Click on the button that will display already installed updates (also pointed out by BD a while back)
Uninstall the Intel HDC driver.
You may have to reboot.

2.I was able to fix this by booting to DOS, running SCANREG, and restoring
the previous day's registry.
