Being an Arab is not an act of faith...Being a Jew neither, going to the Sinagogue is....There are races, nationalities, ethnic groups, genetic Arabs and genetic Jews...No one is insulted

PS The question was why your opinion has any validity for Jews, that define themselves as Jews? (Or Hindu that define themselves as Hindu)

To be a Jew is an act of faith. Without faith a secular Jew is not a Jew.

Hey, lenny, who elected you head of the Sanhedrin? Stop making up new rules for the rest of us. FYI:

A Jew is any person whose mother was a Jew or any person who has gone through the formal process of conversion to Judaism.

It is important to note that being a Jew has nothing to do with what you believe or what you do. A person born to non-Jewish parents who has not undergone the formal process of conversion but who believes everything that Orthodox Jews believe and observes every law and custom of Judaism is still a non-Jew, even in the eyes of the most liberal movements of Judaism, and a person born to a Jewish mother who is an atheist and never practices the Jewish religion is still a Jew, even in the eyes of the ultra-Orthodox. In this sense, Judaism is more like a nationality than like other religions, and being Jewish is like a citizenship.

Bullshit. Who are you to define what someone is? Being a Jew is many things. To many it denotes a religious thing, but since Jews don't actively convert others, if you are born to a Jewish mother, you are a Jew, whether you want to be or not is another question. Whether you are a religious one or not does not matter. All blacks are not the same, nor are English, and neither are jews the same. Heck even idiots aren't the same there are many types, Asso type, Tom type, hdl type, Nazi type. I don't claim your not an idiot because you don't pray to the idiot idol, or do you?
