Larry, just let me know when Hal get's a "beep" again, so I can ride the uptrend, I think we get 1625ish on comp and 30-something on the VIX before a nice uptrend, maybe March

There's no rule that says a bear can last only so long. The bull market started in 1974 and ran until 2000 for a total of 26 years. No rule against that either and I see no reason why we couldn't be bearish fo another year or two.

The bear markets from 1937 to 1942 and from 1968 to 1974 were each about 5-6 years long from market peak to trough. Those were waves 2 and 4 of one large degree. This current bear has to correct the entire run from 1932 to 2000, so it is one degree larger and has the potential for sticking around for quite a while.
