but velo, you can't dismiss that sox five wave down count that looks pretty clean into the the sept lows,

even if we are in a secular bear market that could last years like the nikkei, it's not financially healthy to stay bear klownish when the market wants to rally, it's quite possible that the sox can break up out of this triangle and the dow can climb back up to 10,500 or higher in correcting these hugely oversold lows caused by sept 11.

the crowd is extremely bearish as indicated by the rydex and p/c ratios - the vix is a conundrum, while the fed has reduced it's bearishness by arresting it's rate drops, the bonds are teetering on a breakout, possibly to the downside while the cyclicals are trying to breakout.
