Enron is not the disease, it is the symptom. Lay did not cause the Nasd to lose 6 trillion dollars. Political corruption did. You said:wrote an expose on the evilness of Enron a year ago March when Enron was robbing CA blind. Enron did not "rob" California of anything. PGE and Southern California Edison were PUBLIC utilities. The politicians of the State of California allowed those companies to sell their power plants, which were owned by the People of the State for 10 BILLION dollars and distribute the money to the shareholders of those two companies and not to the people of the state. Then California had no power. When Grey Davis went to buy power, contrary to the budget oversight of the State of California, he went out and secretly signed long term contracts for Power at the highest price it had ever been. When the cost of power came down California was stuck with those exorbitant long term contracts. Now he is spending a half a billion dollars a year on ads telling you to unplug your extra refrigerator, WHICH IF EVERYONE IN THE FRIGGIN' STATE DID, WOULD SAVE ABOUT $20,000 A YEAR IN ELECTRICITY. Diane Feinstien and Grey Davis would love to blame that "evil" Enron for their own stupidity. You add smoke, not light when you spout this dogma. You don't help solve ANYTHING. You confuse, and it is as if you wanted to confuse. Do you? Enron lost 60 Billion because Citicorp Jerked their loans to the company. While dumping the stock it had as collateral for the bank's loan on unsuspecting and uniformed shareholders. Citicorp (and other inside banks) knew what they were doing. Amtrac, a government sponsored rail road, has lost 100 Billion dollars!!! I am told by Senator Maci (?) who is head of the transportation committee. Citicorp was allowed to make secret loans to Enron because the Glass-Stegal Act, put in after the last Depression in this country was repealed by this Congress, who is sloshing waist deep in Soft Money. It is these same Congressmen who wish to blame Ken Lay for the scandal they created. They need a scapegoat to deflect attention from the real problem. And you make fun of him for exercising his constitutional rights? If you are, you are more dangerous to the health of our country than those politicians. At least they know what they are doing. Sorry to be so harsh, but it's almost as if you are sent by politicians to create these smoke screens to confuse us so that the real problems are not addressed. Do you see? Unless, of course....there is always the possibility you DO know what you are doing.
