"This is not much different than what has gone on throughout the history of America with religious, ethnic, political, racial, etc. extremists."

In America a citizen has freedom of and from religion. In Islamic countries you have no such freedom.

"The implied solution is, "destroy em all." This is not a rational perspective and only adds to the confusion and dilema we are living in at such paradoxical times."

No one advocates "destroy em all" but this principal obviously operates in the religious precepts of Islam against the non-believer. Church and State functions are not separate in Islamic nations.

"As a world we have evolved to a point where we should be able to view friends and foe according to sets of principles that we commonly ascribe to and the behavior that rises out of that.

Nothing is shared in common hence the difficulty of negotiating with a nation that is still in the dark ages.

"It is not at this point and our enemies have no firm ground to stand on when calling for support from Eastern Nations. They are being shunned and/or routed out as the traitors and corrupt terrorists that they are."

Only after intense pressure and incredible expense of a U.S. operation. God bless America. If Islam is to survive the crusade to save it must start from within. You're a reasonable type maybe you should lead it.

Until Islam treats women as something more than chattel you will still be in the dark.

"Slavery was outlawed in Saudi Arabia 1962, although some foreign workers are still treated as slaves (especially Filipino maids). Mohammed owned slaves and there is still slavery in Sudan.

FLESH FOR SALE

That is the Heading to an article by Seymour Freidin, columnist for the N. Y. Post (March 27th, 1956)

Writing from Geneva, Seymour Freidin states that the slave traffic, with captives being sold on the auction block to the highest bidder, is apparently flourishing in oil rich Saudi Arabia. As he dryly puts it "--the biggest, wide open traffic in slave girls leads to Saudi Arabia. Relaxing from a hard day's work counting oil royalties, Saudi Arabian families furnish the cash and competition for slavers.

The whole matter will be open for hearing in the U.N. in a few weeks, but obviously there is little chance of the U.N. being able to do much about it.

Apparently the whole slave business is quite legal, and open air markets flourish in the same manner as "market day" in our own county towns.

According to the Post article the slaves are fettered together in chains and the broker has his victims paraded around in teams of four or six so that a client has plenty of time to make up his mind.

This is rather different to the report of a British agent who was through the area in the early 30's. According to him the slaves were certainly shown in a group, but when it came to the actual auction the women were specially spruced up for the occasion and were presented one at a time.

Their skin oiled, the nipples of their breasts dyed, and their hair brushed, shining, and hanging behind them in a long plait.

The slave appeared, head erect, hands clasped behind her neck. her waist nipped in by a wide leather belt -- shaped to the figure -- like a waist-cinching corset.

On tiptoe she moved, taking little steps, because her ankles were fettered by ornamental but none the less strong brass or bronze shackles joined by a short chain. A wide metal collar engraved with the name of the broker was round her neck, and there she stood while the bidding went on.

To the casual observer she would seem to be just a girl displaying herself, in the same manner as a contestant in a beauty parade, and apparently quite enjoying the attention she was getting, which would be a false assumption. For though she might have felt like lowering her head she could not do so. It was held erect by a leather thong plaited in with her hair which was then tied at her waist dragging her head back. Her belt was laced in to squeeze her waist to the limit. She kept her hands behind her neck, thus showing every line of her figure to the best advantage, because her thumbs were tied together with a thong, which again was tied to the plait behind neck, and she stood on tip toe because though her sandals were heeless a large spike (blunted so as not to break the skin) stuck up and encouraged her to forget about lowering her heels.

The sale completed all this "show only" paraphernalia of the broker (the belt, the sandals, the ankle chains and the collar) were removed, and with her hands tied behind her back and a rope halter round her neck she was banded over to her buyer.

In those days all sorts Were coming up for auction including Russian refugees escaping from one form of slavery only to find themselves landed in another. Rumor had it that many titled ladies of the old Russian aristocracy, believed to have been killed by Bolsheviks, were to be found the harems of Arabia.

Times change and nowadays to protect their investments Mr. Freidin says:-- the brokers install the slaves up for the highest bids on the open market in barred rooms in barred rooms in their own homes. That's considered the safest way of keeping your property undamaged. A little water, a little rice or bread are provided twice daily. The turnover is quick and brokers don't spend much on food -- it cuts down on profits.

Kidnapping raids flourish mainly in the Qata and Buraimi desert areas these days, where Nomadic tribes provide many of the victims for the trade, and according to the Post:--" it appears that before a profitable raid can be pulled off a few technical arrangements must be made. Slavers get in touch with itinerant entertainers who are preparing to give a show in a particular district. The entertainers after getting their palms crossed also arrange for a big dancing party."

"Once this is settled a slaver talks to the leaders of the tribe hovering around the point destined to be raided."

More haggling takes place in which custom and tradition are obligatory, and once a price is agreed on the raid takes place. The slaver gets his captives who are then sent over well known slave routes to Riyadh "Nesting point of Saudi Arabian royalty."

But sometimes a client wants something special in a slave girl, The whole procedure then becomes more personal and of course more expensive, and once a suitable victim has been spotted the individual abduction technique is put into motion. When the chosen "suitable" moment arrives the victim is seized, gagged and bound before she can make any outcry, and spirited away across the desert to a regular slave caravan.

On the spot business is often done through brokers, who, anxious for a quick turnover, sell to other brokers so of course the price rises considerably -- but in that land of oil-money, who cares.

Mr. Seymour Freidin points out that if the U.N. steps in they would like to be able to keep vigil by air over the slave lanes and any slave found would of course be freed on the spot. Then he adds:--

"Realistically, no hope exists that Saudi Arabia will accept any such international agreement. The rulers there brook no law but their own. When they call for slaves, or tanks, they get them.

In the Post article no mention is made of the possible influx of slaves from South Africa. Arab "slave-raiding" in Africa was still big business before the last war. The raiders, with information from native spies, would descend on a village when all and sundry were drunk after a huge feast. Those sober enough to offer any resistance were quickly clubbed into submission, and then the whole tribe, even women and children, were bound, hand and foot. This done, the slavers then picked out at their leisure those who would fetch a good price. These were then fastened in pairs by a yoke, made from a stout sapling some ten feet long and split at each end to take the neck and wrists of each captive -- wooden pegs driven across the opening held neck and wrists, and made all escape impossible. The captives were then driven down to the coast where they were put aboard a dhow while those left behind at the village could do the best they could do to untie each other."

Islam will be greatly diminished when domestic oil reserves replace our reliance on Gulf oil. The Arab oil market will dry up within the next ten years as the mega-fields of oil sands and shales in Canada are developed.

ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?????
Islam is the ONLY legal religion in Saudi Arabia! Name me a state or a time in the history of the United States when that has been true.

Converting a Muslim to another religion in Saudi Arabia is punishable by DEATH- -for the converter and convertee. When has anything like that been true in the US?

Turn your brain on before you start typing.
