Someone I respect and like very much has reminded me that Mephisto could be insulting on her own thread, about people who were there- Minute Subjects, or something like that. And I knew that- she never liked me. I was banned from a few of her threads. I may have offended her with an insensitive cat post- :-)

But she doesn't go out of her way to find people, to obsess on them, to discuss them in absentia or to monitor what is said about her, or what "might" be adapted to being about her, and for that I admire her.

I'm going out to dinner with friends this Valentine's Day. We're going out for a winetaster's dinner- where all courses will be paired with a local wine. I'm sure it will be lovely. And I am engaged in many festivities today at school. I am already decked out in my Valentine's outfit. I sent mystery candy grams to all the kids in the class I am student teaching in- so I can't wait to see them delivered. Second graders usually don't give out candy grams, so I think they will be surprised to get any- it is usually considered a "big kid" thing- it is huge among the 5th grade girls.

My kids are all taking big bags of candy to school to give to their friends. We bought special gel pens so we could write their names on the candy bags. That way the parents will know who to hit up for damages when it comes time to pay the dental bills. My kids are having some really nice parties this year. The little one is having a pizza party and pinata and crafts- all day long! The middle one is having lunch brought in from taco bell for his class- and apparently they have activities planned as well as a movie- and the big one is doing some sort of movie and dinner after school with her friends- chaperoned by an angelic mom, who has a really big commuter size van. This might be the perfect Valentine's day- knock on wood.

Are you feeling better? That's good news!
WHere are you going to dinner?
WE are having leftover lasagna. Isn't that romantic?
Had people over last night and cooked all day- lasagna from scratch- so it's at least GOOD lasagna. :)
And I DID make cute heart shaped teacakes.
