Has it occured to anyone that the basis of Enron's fall was the freezing of electric prices to help California? Take this possible senario...

When the government decision to freeze prices took place. Enron contacted Washington and said it would ruin them. Washington ended up deciding with Enron that it would be better to ruin them than most of Calif. Washington gave the go ahead to make ever more ridiculous offshore deals to try to avoid the ruin. Washington also gave the assurance that no jail time would happen to them if they went along with the deal and didn't raise a big stink about California. So Enron ran with it....Enron failed...

Just a general thought about that direction of what may have actually happened.
