Two of Bush's public appts. as governor were recommends by ENE. This is a typical remark from the left. Are you suggesting that the Gore campaign didn't receive contributions from Enron or Global Crossing or any other company? Hell, receiving campaign contributions does not in any way constitute inappropriate behavior. Now, if it could be shown that Enron received some special treatment as a result of the contributions the administration received, that would be a different thing. For plenty of examples of such quid pro quo, refer to the previous administration -- it's everywhere. Please see:pittsburghlive.com The weakness of your response exemplifies the weakness in the liberal argument. The simple fact is that there hasn't been EVEN THE SLIGHTEST HINT of any quid pro quo between the Bush Administration and Enron. On the other hand, it is clear that the Clinton/Gore administration DID provide special benefits to Enron in exchange for their contributions. All their behavior proves during this fiasco is that they were smart enough to stay away from ENE when it was going down. This is typical liberal two-faced garbage. The Bush Administration did precisely the ethically correct thing -- stayed way, far way, from Enron as it collapsed. Had they done anything to "help out", it would have been totally inappropriate behavior and you'd have been criticizing them for it. It is amazing to me that you can criticize Bush Administration for its behavior in this matter and do so with a straight face. It is clear that Clinton, Gore and other liberals are the politicians who acted inappropriately in the Enron fiasco. Neither you, nor any liberal, has been able to find an ounce of dirt against the Republicans in this matter. It is, to me, hilarious how deafening the silence since it was disclosed that McAuliffe was up to his eyes in corruption. The real question doesn't concern Enron. The REAL corruption will be uncovered as GX, who was lining Democrat pockets all over the country, starts to unwind. I can't wait.
