Don't know the future of Qwest, but if the government allows the consolidation of one or more baby bells, it will make me laugh.

I was assigned to attend the grand news conference years ago at which the feds announced their breakup of AT&T into the baby bells. Putting them back together again would prove once and for all the government has a failed communications policy.

I disagree Marvin, The company can go bankrupt and shareholders can lose everything. That would not stop the former U.S. West from continuing operations for their customers. The assets would be sold to another company and the proceeds would go to creditors leaving the shareholders with a tax write off. I have little knowledge of Q and am not predicting anything.
