I read someone who compared it to the nihilism of the Spanish fascists crying "Viva la muerta!". I think people would be surprised how much of the Moorish influence carried over into Spanish culture. And I find it amazing, as well, how much Islamic society praises the "martyrdom" of others, given that most of them are unwilling (thankfully) to participate in such activities themselves. But there's little doubt that these suicidal tendencies, under the facade of martyrdom, and aimed at non-combatants, certainly pervades modern extremist Islam. Hawk
