i don't see where the chart changes anything--for the whole time period in question it is stuck in trendless trading range going nowhere pattern where ONLY swing traders made money.To place 74 in a start of a bull just doesn't work,and your chart confirms 1982 as the bull commencement following a secular bear---your chart actually defines a secular bear exceedly well:) See how in 1982 you break the trading range.BTW,we do NOT include end 61 through
end 65,because that was a power leg-up precedeing trading range.These chartist who eliminate secular bear periods by saying well the trend over the past 70 years have been up,are not talking the realities of fact that people live and die:),or enter the market at the wrong moment or reach retirement at the wrong time---
