Hi Cary,

What can I say I bought the stock cause I want to own it at the price I Paid.

Did you ever buy an old car - it's worth what the buyer wants to pay. It's not a function of it's depreciation based on past models of past years. In many ways stock are much the same. There are no constants.IMHO

Perhaps I'm trying to explain my thought process,in terms you'll be more inclined to understand- so I'll get over that.

Want a simple answer. I'm comfortable with averaging down at this level, and holding the stock however long it takes to do well with it.

There is no graile - you just have to be comfortable with owning it at a certain price. I'm comfortable with it .

It's like Don Worden says - we make the big money because we take the risks. You don't have squat unless you own it.If you jump the gun and it's a loser roll out and buy it back lower. I first bought Jdsu at 9.60 and 8.22 sold it at 8.51 for a slight averaged tax loss - I'm tickled pink snagging it at 6.40.

I'm in the game and feelin good about it.

I hope you buy it even lower, or maybe even at the perfect buy.In my way of investing, which is long term positional trading - I've never worried about the bottom 2 points or the top 10. If your selection/sector criteria is correct, you should accumulate GREAT WEALTH over time and enjoy the ownership of great stocks with CONFIDENCE.

I hope this relates to you and I'm not trying to give a complex answer to a very simple process.

I like it - I bought it. With time, the next guy to relieve me of ownership will pay me handsomely for my stewardship - at capital gains tax rates (I hope).

I don't make it much more complicated than that.

Sorry for the apparently involved/verbose answer.

Best of trades to you.

Bob

Edit - When valuations are guided by a market which features the extreme emotions of greed and fear how in the world can you expect a simple answer to a simple question - or perhaps your question wasn't related to the valuation of the stock?

Cary, and threaders. when can we expect CSCO to use up its inventory of JDSU's, etc. parts and then ordering additional equipment from JDSU? IMO, when we see this inventory used then JDSU coulld jump tremendously.
