The payoff in sports programs is a healthier bunch of people, having more fun and complaining less. Studies have consistently shown that athletes of any calibre have better sex and meet more of the opposite sex. I guess that closes discussion on the matter. Government funding is available for building sports clubs.

electrodude. while it is not conclusive evidence, you might well ask australians about the worth of their sports program. There has been a big surge in national pride that maps directly with their international success in the olympics.

this success is a direct result of the gvmt. pumping more cash into all areas of development.

not a criticism of your post, rather just something to note. Whenever federal money is spent in one area, it is no longer available for another... that too must be weighed in.
