At least it's better than the Valentine's Day gift I received yesterday.

Do you think it will ever make it to court, or will there be the traditional "undisclosed settlement" a la Qualcomm, Intel, Broadcom and the endless list of technology battles that go on and on and on and on....?

Too bad IBM did a little boo boo on their reporting. It's time for clarity and sticking to guidelines.

Gus,
thank you very much for great posts on this and EMC threads, I appreciate your contribution a lot.

Just a thought: what if Brocade tries to acquire McData now? Hostile takeover, 30-40% premium...

Brocade Communications' Officers Recommend Andersen as Auditor
By John Stebbins

San Jose, California, March 13 (Bloomberg) -- Brocade Communications Systems Inc., a maker of computer network switches, asked shareholders to approve keeping Arthur Andersen LLP as the company's auditor even as some companies drop the firm following Enron Corp.'s collapse.

Brocade, based in San Jose, California, said it has used Andersen since October 1997. Last year, it paid the Chicago-based company $338,600 in audit and audit-related fees and $1.53 million for advisory services related to tax preparation and international tax strategies, the company said in a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing.

Andersen, Enron's auditor for more than a decade, is in talks to sell itself to rivals while under federal investigation over Enron's collapse, people familiar with the situation have said. Anderson has lost dozens of clients this year and may be indicted for work related to Enron, which filed the largest U.S. bankruptcy on Dec. 2, people have said.

In a proxy sent March 4, Brocade asked shareholders to ratify Andersen's reappointment at the company's April 18th annual meeting, spokeswoman Fenella Tigner said. The law does not require shareholder approval, the company said.

Brocade's shares fell 12 cents to $28.26 in midday trading. They had declined 14 percent this year.<<

Now, BRCD paid for auditing services AND consulting,we know they are silicon slicksters of first caliber. Do they have loyalty to AAnderson or don't they want another firm?

Never a dull moment....staying tuned.
