Total Rydex assets HAVE decreased during the last couple of years, but the decrease is due to the decline in their OTC fund, where assets have fallen from $3.7 billion in 2000 to only $831 million now.

As for who the Rydex players are, I was told by a Rydex person that most of them are Registered Investment Advisors and "people with black boxes". Based on the historical record, they are contrary investors.
