I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree. I’m not suggesting that all your arguments don’t have a certain validity, I just think the citizens have a right to know what goes on between elected officials and lobbyists. If I have to choose between lobbyists and the American public I’m going to give the American public the benefit of the doubt every time. If you're so distrustful of the public (ok, you probably mean the media) then a reasonable compromise would be to agree to turn documentation of the meetings over to their representatives in the Congress and Senate. Yes, some of our legislators will try to cause political mischief, but that’s the American way. We’ve elected a bunch of self-dealing partisans, maybe you can suggest a better form of government. Personally, I don’t put a high priority on the trains running on time nor do I want a State that thinks it knows what’s best for me.
