Interesting article. I think it highlights that automating a process when the business process is bad is not a good recipe for success. The first thing to always do is ensure the business process is sound. Looks like that is what Cisco has to do now. Then again, sometimes when you're breaking new ground, you're the one who has to iron out all the kinks, and sometimes it hurts to be first.

Yeah, thanks for that excellent article. One more example of hubris, leading to disaster. They were so sure their market was going to grow rapidly forever; the only problem was expanding fast enough, getting enough components to meet the endless demand.
