KG - whether you know it or not, your argument actually reinforces the idea that this stock sale is an indicator that the stock will not perform.

You say "A lot of people got burned on options because they excersised, which created a tax liability, but they didnt sell the stock....they waited, stock went down, and they ended up selling stock for a loss but had huge cap gains tax due because it is based on the price it was excersised at, not what you sold it at 90% lower 3 months later....so, many have learned it is best to sell the stock immediatly upon excersising the options. "

So let's see, you are suggesting Scott is protecting himself from SUNW going down by 90% FROM HERE, in other words under a buck... not confidence inspiring. I doubt that's what you meant, but that's what you wrote.

Furthermore, the other reference was to the FOUNDERS buying stock, not corporate buybacks.

A CEO is not the same as you or me - he or she makes a statement about the company with every action. If this was a "measly" transaction, why not exercise and hold just to make the point that the stock is undervalued?
