Late Realization DDR brakes
Pentium 4

The Germans are finally getting it as well. Funny how all the shit is hitting the fan at the
same time, guess they can't deny benchmarks.

This popular german computer Site also writes, that what everyone sees just now,
could have been seen half a year ago already and now recommends only RDRAM for
the P4 and alternatively an Athlon with DDR. Thanks to year4929 for this link.

Late realization
DDR brakes Pentium 4

(mn) many rely with the purchase of new PCS on the "performance inspection" of the
usual "test laboratories" in the InterNet. But their force of expression and
recommendations become ever more short-lived. Still few weeks ago the form of
RAM bus memory was not celebrated, with the argument DDR and/or DDR2
memory was cheaper and better. For this reason also with Pentium IV machines to
DDR to solutions one guessed/advised. Now the test scene turns again and divides
with: DDRAM is enough only for Pentium IV to approx. 2 GHz, with faster CPUs
becomes DDRAM the brake. A late realization. Because: Already in the middle of
2001 was to be foreseen completely clearly that the coming Pentium IV models needs
expressly RAM bus memory around full achievement to entfallten. And this statement
read yourself with view into the technical documentations Bandbreite/Pentium4/RAM
already a half year ago make. Who followed the DDR recommendation and recently
bought a P4-System with DDRAM, may be annoyed thus. Who plans up-to-date the
acquisition of a Pentium 4 with more than 2 GHz (or would like a smaller P4
according to over clocks), should not buy a DDRAM and expressly buy on RAM
bus memory set -or a Athlon system to buy, to the DDRAM well fits.
