You are soooooooooooooooooooooo right!
Many companies had opposed disclosing it because executives, directors, and compensation "specialists" were claiming that options did not "cost" the company anything!!!

I bet you 8 out of 10 ceos' out there don't have an accurate clue as to what their fiduciary responsibilities are to shareholders. The same applies to members of the board of directors of companies.
