1x hasn't even been launched nationwide in the US. It doubles the capacity of operators. You have no idea how well it will do or not do. No one will know for 6-9 months when we get the first hint of how consumers are going to react to it. If it allows PCS an VZ to offer more minutes for the same price, it affects consumers and they will give a shit about that.

If you are referrring to data, you might be right, but I doubt it. Except for GPRS, I think it's safe to say that every country in which 1x has been rolled out has had successful data applications. So what if it's only Korea. vbg. The case for data is a good one. You'll just have to trust us on that point.

But the more important point, data aside, is that 1x increases a carrier's voice capacity and decreases its voice costs considerably. The consumer is irrelevant, except when the carrier can offer him deals he can't turn down.
