PC Demand Goes Up in Smoke

That's right, my email box is smoking ever since I asked for heat on what people are hearing about personal computer demand.

Within an hour, I had received responses from fund managers, computer retailers, computer resellers and consumers, all saying the same thing: Business has, indeed, gotten bad again.

That's not good news for Intel (INTC:Nasdaq - news - commentary - research - analysis), Microsoft (MSFT:Nasdaq - news - commentary - research - analysis) or any PC manufacturers. It is extremely worrisome because the real source of strength in this horrid tech market has been personal computers.

It looks like this group might be ready for another leg down. It looks like some sales need to be made.

I just had to come back with this because I can't believe how many people got back to me, with nary a positive email on the subject!

Bright: It means Big Caps are being sold as they have more volume and are fewer in number IMO. In other words, institutions are selling BIG.

Prices, up or down, being driven to option strike price before expiration?
This is my guess.

Why don't you ask for Mark Johnson's take, he might have something cogent to contribute.
