The way I came to using 39 for my full stoch was from the Encyclopedia or tech indicators( I know it says weekly but I look at the daily with it), I have been paper trading using that and the chalkin osc set to (39,1). I think is has nice signals, bwdik. As an example look at this chart.stockcharts.com [w,a]daclyiay[d20000813,20021213][pf][vc60][ilp89,3,5!lp13,5,8!lp13,8,8!lp4,3,2!ld233!ld610!up39,1,1!uq39,1][j3152817,y] it could be setting up again similar to the april march 01 run, what I want to see is the chalkin osc "inflect", head lower and establish its slope and then have the stoch xover the 20 signal line(after having been oversold and not a V bottom thing). If there is a real trend to trade the stoch will go to 80 while the chalkin osc heads down...ideally sell when the stoch is above 80 and the chalkin osc inflects see the chart ~ that should result in a nice trade. I stack the stoch above the chalkin osc for scanning charts stockcharts kicks out, both indicators are coming together so it's easy to spot.(sometimes stockcharts kicks out 1oo+ charts to weed through) Here is the stock chart scan: Criteria • For the current market close: • United States Stocks with... • 20-day Simple Moving Average of Volume for today is greater than 200000 • 20-day Simple Moving Average of Close for today is greater than 5 • Full Stoch %K(39,1,1) for today is greater than 0 • Full Stoch %K(39,1,1) for today is less than 20 • Chaikin Osc(39,1) for today is greater than Maximum Volume over 30 days starting today Sometimes you get lucky and it kicks out nice chart pattens in the making, it's been fun since I don't use real money. Another question if you don't mind. When you sshift timeframes, do you change indicator parameters if you move from the weekly to the daily or the 60 minute ? Just wondering And if so to what ? IE if I use full stoch(39,1,1) in the daily should I use 4 times that in a weekly view full stoch(156,1,1) 1/4th the daily view settings for the 60 minute view ??? I played around with it a bit a while back but my ADD got the better of me and ended up looking at something else.. Regards, Mary
