<If you cut down a forest, WS sees an increase in GDP EVEN IF the whole thing was sold for a couple bucks. >

You are right, they completely underestimate the economic value of cutting down a forest. A lot of the tree gets converted to CO2 [being used in disposable products] and that helps the ecosphere by increasing the CO2 atmospheric levels and accelerating plant growth around the world.

The forest regrows, which absorbs that CO2 so there isn't a long term gain in CO2 - more is needed by retrieving crude oil, gas, coal and tars.

But a forest is worth more than a couple of bucks - I like my outdoor furniture, houses, newspapers and stuff and I have paid a LOT more than a couple of bucks. We are talking big bucks.

I say cut more, plant more, drill more, burn more...let's get this economy moving and the ecosphere filled with living things.
