NVIDIA Corp (NVDA) 57 -5.16: -- Before Open -- NVDA reported ahead of analyst est. of $0.34 at $0.43 (including a $0.02 FASB 142 gain) last night; also announced an internal accounting review that was recommended by the SEC; firms remain enthusiastic about stock. Prudential rates NVDA's qtr as "stellar" and anticipates that the review will take 1-3 months; believes mid-long term investors will be able to buy the highest growing semi name at discounted prices. Morgan Stanley reiterates their Outperform rating; believes NVDA remains one of the most attractive stocks in their universe, noting the 35% P/S discount and strong earnings power. Merrill Lynch maintains their near-term Buy/long-term Strong Buy rating on NVDA but expects near-term trading activity in the stock to be unpredictable.




Pac Growth on Networking : -- Intraday -- Pacific Growth Equities issues their mid-qtr update on group: channel checks and discussions with equip vendors suggest that the IP infrastructure equip mkt remains challenging, although the domestic enterprise market is showing modest signs of improvement; demand for service provider networking equipment such as carrier class routing and layer 3 switching is slow while enterprise technologies such as VPN/firewall appliances, wireless LAN products and enterprise class layer 3 switches are showing modest growth. Checks also signal that the North American enterprise market is making modest growth, although the very beginning of the year was seasonally slow. As a result, firm trims ests for RSTN and is cautious on JNPR; believes SNWL and NSCN are reasonably well positioned this qtr.
