You don't like Battlebots?????
:)
Sorry you still feel so bad.
I am reading The Corrections by the way-- did you get it finished?
But I am torn because I also have the new Joanna Trollope AND the new Elinor Lipmann and they are always so easy and so much fun. I feel like the Corrections is my spinach and they are my froufrou dessert.

Yes, it was funny, wasn't it?! (Thank you.)

I actually suspect the VM didn't resonate with so many people, given that it's shlock so casts a wide net. I suspect most were curious. There is this woman on the stage imitating orgasms at length, for example, though how many of other women's orgasms she's audited I wonder about, and there's a long riff on the word cunt that consists of saying it over and over and over and over, managing to be both tedious and repellently showoffy (imo; you hadda see it), and thus, one could also argue, spoiling words like cunt and pussy for special occasions.

Such stuff has sensationalism going for it, and a built-in feminist/PC constituency, and not necessarily great popularity or a claim to resonate with a great many women, I suspect.
