BTW, I'm more a FN fan than a NEM fan, and no longer own either (actually sold FN at about 22, bought at 14, never owned NEM). NEM has similar challenges that the rest of the majors have. The price they paid for NDY was a little steep IMO, especially considering that they have to buy the huge hedge book back. I like them as a visionary company, but don't see the stock price as a bargain.

Lassonde spoke about "natural owners", and multiple companies operating in one district. Used the Hemlo example, suggesting that just one company should be there. Of course there are many other splits, and redundant plants that could be consolidated or rearranged for mutual benefits. Looks like ABX agrees with this concept.
