I'm listening to The Corrections on tape now, and it's the abridged version, the only version on tape, which I had been told was a very good abridgement, and I suspect it is, since it moves right along and nothing seems obviously missing. Six cassettes,

I am enjoying it in spite of the sadness, but don't think it would be worth slogging through a very wordy version of. He has his moments, though.

My opinions on the VM manage to be simultaneously fervid and informed by ennui, remarkably enough. PC pushes my buttons but at bottom it is by definition boring, really. I mean the content of its manifestos.

I thought the first 70 or 80 pages of The Corrections was very slow as well. I'll be very interested on your opinion of it. I found it disappointing.
