"you missed the mark"

MISSING THE MARK, aka SIN (from ADI DA)

In the instant in which reactive states of mind, emotion, and body arise, then desires, motivations, and obsessive fascinations also arise, high and low, as methods of relief from the problems and tensions of the bodily being. Such is the origin of self-possession, temptation, and "sin," which means "to miss the mark." The reactive and independent body-mind is turned upon itself, and so it avoids or "misses the mark" of all relations-human, natural, and Divine.

FROM: Love of the Two-Armed Form

You see from this that the concepts of turning towards or away from God, egoity, sin and missing the mark are contained in the one paragraph.

Submitted also for Bill in the interest of showing that
Adi Da is capable of simplicity and precision, in conversational-style language.

Namaste!
