OT-UWB I am not sure if the Nokia rooftop wireless system is different technology. I don't have the Worth article with me right now, but I don't recall any mention about line-of-sight problems. In fact, I think they said in theory it could even be used underground. Cell phones don't seem to have major line-of-sight problem either, I guess I don't understand the article I just found on the Nokia technology (link below). It seems the Nokia technology does not have the 1 kilometer restriction. Perhaps the one-kilometer limit mentioned in the Worth article is due to line-of-sight problems. Maybe someone can clarify this.

Thanks for this Nokia news. Whatever method is used, it seems the "last-mile" monopolies will have a lot of competition in the next 1-3 years.
