It's not cheap to buy a vote either but with a large membership pool in the lobby through direct media advertising, it could be done.

I have a degree in polling from George Gallup's alma mater. We know how to do accurate polling. But most polling is done seeking a specific result (politically motivated) and that is why the dems can always come up with a poll which supports whatever they want it to support.
