I would consider this a pretty bullish indicator. Because this is a "take no prisoner" type of market, funds would be dumping both HWP and CPQ shares if they feared a rejection or acceptance would further damage the share price.

Both companies have earnings (no small matter in this market) and a more than decent outlook for the next few quarters.

Fear of failure would result in a lightening up of share positions.
