Jim:

According to Briefing.com

Fri 11:54am VPI Vintage Petroleum downgraded by Merrill Lynch and UBS Warburg - Briefing.com

Vintage Petroleum VPI UBS Warburg
from Buy
to Hold

Merrill Lynch
from NT Neutral/LT Buy
to NT Reduce-Sell/LT Neutral

No mention of the $18 price from Warburg. Seems like this company has a lot of exposure to Latin America, which can mean currency valuation problems, which affected Q-4 and all of 2001.

Peter

vpi Downgraded by mer and ubs warburg

this is an easy one to get right. they are both downgrades on february 15, 2002. here is the link from yahoo. mer downgrade is near term reduce/sell long term neutral, and ubs warburg downgrade is from buy to hold. unless there is big trouble, looks like these downgrades are late (as usual?).
