Scott, good try but nothing had to be clarified per my post. I attached two press releases that were released at the time of the transaction which stated clearly what transpired. Fleckenstein certainly must not "follow the company closely" to have missed this news. As I said in my post, IBM has transactions like this most every quarter. Is is not unusual for press releases to come from only one party since the news organizations cross reference the releases. Again, no new news here.
Regarding the SEC claim I certainly would not go to the bank with Fleckenstein who appears to have his own agenda. And if he is so close to the company he would understand that not all revenue is created equal. Obviously PC revenues are not going to contribute much if anything to the bottom line versus legacy software and mainframes. But he has no mention of what the revenue mix was which I would suspect is because he has no clue. So we would all be better served to get our SEC readings from a more objective source than Fleckenstein.
