Home LAN setup

Would someone be able to suggest good links to sites which would assist in setting up a small home Ethernet LAN (D-Link router)? I am interested in finding one or more sites that could help configure each PC to talk to each other (file sharing) as well as set them up for a single high speed Internet DSL modem operating under Windows2000.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

PS. I did look up some sites but those that I found appeared out of date or geared for Win95/98. As well D-Link does not have technical support web pages set up yet.
