(considering the oil crises and its origins, during the short Carter era, without going
into Israel and Palestine and 1967)

The rest of the world have for the most understood that it is not enough to achieve an agreement
with the present US administration, one must always think about and plan for the next one.

Just like any US-domestic lobbying group should know???

Fairly well, but still diplomatically said, in the EU protests on the lack of continuity in US international
efforts, as well as the problem of the times before the elections, disruptions of the checks and balances.

But rather than just agree to negotiate the removal of the Jupiters, JFK was willing to take both nations to the brink of war. They were later removed from Turkey a few months later, as I recall.


The Jupiters were part of the deal. It was kept secret and came out years later. He also guaranteed Castro a free ride in Cuba.
