PUG-t...in the news: Pure Gold starts Tichegami property surface exploration Mon 18 Feb 2002 Mr. Donald Sheldon reports PURE GOLD MINERALS INC.: FIELD OPERATIONS INITIATED IN OTISH ... Surface exploration has started on Pure Gold Minerals' Tichegami River property. In addition, an airborne geophysical survey now underway over the newly acquired claims contiguous to and south of the Beaver Lake kimberlite will expand the current airborne coverage by over 200 square kilometres. Pure Gold is financing exploration on the Tichegami River property under an option agreement with Ditem Explorations Inc. The airborne survey covers lands owned jointly by Pure Gold and Ditem, and is being financed equally by the two companies. Exploration on the Tichegami River property will evaluate a select number of kimberlite targets from the airborne geophysical survey. A combination of geophysical surveys and till sampling will be conducted to prioritize the selected anomalies for a proposed drilling program. Pure Gold is currently planning to conduct an initial drill program on the Tichegami River property in March and April. The Tichegami River property is located immediately north of the diamond-bearing Beaver Lake kimberlite in the core of the Mistassini region of the Otish Mountains in Quebec. The area has been subject to intense staking activity by numerous exploration companies over the past few months as a result of the promising diamond results from the Renard kimberlite pipes announced by the Ashton/SOQUEM joint venture. An announcement on Feb. 12, 2002, by Canabrava Diamond Corp. and Majescor Resources Inc. of highly encouraging mineral chemistry results down ice from the Pure Gold/Ditem project area continues to enhance the potential of the immediate area to host additional kimberlites. Pure Gold is actively exploring for diamonds in Alberta, the Northwest Territories, Nunavut and Quebec. Gordon Keevil, professional geologist and director of Pure Gold, is responsible for the design and conduct of the exploration programs, and the verification and quality assurance of analytical results.
