Paul, Re: "Gutsy move. Wouldn't surprise me to see MAD pre-warn in early March."

Maybe, but I figured: what's the worst that can happen? At a P/S ratio of 1.3, where's the stock going to go - down? At the best, a small profit with such a small amount of outstanding stock would give them a large EPS. AMD seems less risky these days, given the popular attitude that the company is going nowhere, which has already set the stock price at a bargain, IMO. But then again, there is still risk; otherwise, I would have bought more than a couple hundred shares.

Paul, >Wouldn't surprise me to see MAD pre-warn in early March.

A sharp guy (Alan81) from TMF sounds like he agrees with you:

If the 0.13u conversion and speeds hold to AMD expectations, they should pull from a miserable performance in Q2 to something that looks quite nice...............................................................IF AMD hits their milestones for this year they should be able to go from a miserable first half to a clear winner. Time will tell.

As usual with AMD, the IF word is in there for them to even pull out of the predicted malaise. They'll have to reverse their recent poor schedule performance on Palomino and 0.13 to do it.
