The semi-equip sure don't look oversold to me, they could use another notching up of the BTB next week for "selling the news" to become oversold, right now, they are perched "high and dry". Actually dangerous. The bios, I see too many "broken patterns" and they must hold (on BTK) 450 on the next swing down or "die". If they hold, they could be very good candidates for a strong spring bounce indeed.

the semis and bio's are getting nicely oversold...

The semis are oversold?
They are propping up the market.
AMAT KLAC etc have defied the latest trend down.

Yes we agree that bios are oversold.
Which are your favorites?

OptionsJerry..what indicators do you use to assess Sox being oversold?

1. stockcharts.com[l,a]daclyyay[db][pc20!h.02,.20][vc60][iUb14!La12,26,9]&pref=G

the above is a 3-month chart on Sox. From a high of just over 600 to currently 554 -- you calling this oversold?
Based on what? Are you reading forward guidance from the big cap chips, INTC TXN AMAT etc etc? which one raised forward earnings for 2002, rather than the BS "things have bottomed, orders SEEM to be up, blah blah."

Which big cap chip company blew out Q1 earnings just recently and is drastically raising guidance for earnings and revenues for 2002?

ON THE OTHER HAND

looking at the 2-year chart, in which Sox dropped from 1250 to 554 currently, I do agree with you that Sox is oversold.
