I understand completely your concerns about nukes. My distaste for them is immense. Enough so that I wouldn't have believed a year ago that I could be contemplating them now.

I differ, in that I believe, with the Coldest War over, that nuke use is not an instant suicide ticket. A lot depends on what the nuclear powers are discussing in the backrooms and where new alliances are drawn.

I still would prefer not to see it at all. But if it comes to that, I would prefer to see a judicious use of it on our behalf rather than experiencing the hellish end of Saddam's madness.

And I spoze FL needs to weigh in here, but I don't think a discussion about nuke use is OT.
