I think business conditions will remain very tough
for Mirant over the next several months, if not year
or two. The stock trading down at these levels tells you
that. If the stock were that much of a gimme as some
investors think, the stock wouldn't be selling at $9.
The closing off of Mirant's access to the credit/
bond markets is very serious and with other players
in this sector all looking to delever all at the
same time, asset valuations are sure to go lower.
With Calpine and AES both is serious danger of
defaulting, IMHO, I am rethinking the wisdom of my
purchase of stock in Mirant, even though my buy-in
is $9.22.
