Susie,

It would seem that "change to the bottom line" in the post-ENE era is going to be the primary refrain of Q2, with potentially devastating effects on the broader markets. I'm kicking myself for not pulling the trigger on some OEX puts Friday when the chart alone was screaming sell; and for selling my DJX puts.

If I were a conspiracist, which I'm not, I'd be tempted to believe that the money managers and MM's are in cohoots with the SEC in pushing for this new legislation, hoping for a bottom re-test before we see a '99 redivivus summer rally as they buy up from scared hands.

In any case, we will take it one day at a time. Very likely, the big money will be made on the short side going into the next earnings season. Interest rates are surely going to rise too, adding to the worries [and how the heck are we going to pay for a prolonged war effort?]. Not much reason here to go long.

But we will always be here to play the bounces!
